Jean Elphick & Catherine Lincoln, who have been village correspondents for many years, but are now retiring have this to say:
"We two correspondents, who gather news about Slaley and write them up (alternately) each week, are now looking for one or two people to replace us. This is our decision, as we have both been doing them for seventeen years (Jean) and eleven years (Catherine) respectively!
"We feel that it is time for new faces to take over, so please give us a break and yourselves a change. It is an enjoyable way to meet and make new friends, and to keep up with the comings and goings of a thriving Northumberland village. Please call Jean (on 673443) or Catherine (on 676855) to find out more about what’s involved in writing for the Courant.”
