Slaley Leek Club's Open Flower, Fruit and Vegetable Show.....
……will take place in the Commemoration Hall on Saturday 5th October. This will be the club’s 60th annual show. As well as the competition for leek club members there are forty-nine other classes of vegetable and flowers which anyone can enter. The flower categories attract competitors from all over the North-East and produce wonderful displays of dahlias and chrysanthemums. There are twenty classes of vegetables so why not enter something and support this great village show? There is no fee to enter!
After the show, the vegetables will be sold off in boxes at £10 each. This is an opportunity to buy amazing, often prize-winning vegetables and support the club. Please order your box in advance by e-mailing David Innes on d11scg@btinternet.com.
At 5.30pm on the day the flowers will be auctioned with successful bidders getting magnificent flowers at very reasonable prices.
All of the proceeds from this year's show go towards putting on next year's show to keep this great village tradition alive so please give it your support.
